Go Grey the Virtual Way

Go Grey the Virtual Way

12:00AM - 11:59PM Friday 1st - Sunday 31st May 2020
Registrations for this event are now closed.
During the month of May (brain cancer awareness month), from the comfort of your home, we’re asking the young (and young at heart) to participate in fun, stimulating activities that celebrate the brains that make us who we are, all while raising much needed funds for paediatric brain cancer: the #1 cancer killer of young Australians.
Go Grey the Virtual Way is a series of four online events, all designed to make you feel good, while doing good. All events hosted by well known ‘experts’ in their field and have a special connection to Connor: our inspiration for everything we do at the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation.

9 may: Connor’s Yoga Class

Do your body, mind and soul a favour and join RCD Foundation for a mindful and relaxing 90-minute yoga session with Connor’s wonderful yoga teacher, Patricia Algeri. Patricia will also lead us through the same “I will…” affirmation process she did with Connor, which led to his affirmation of “I will be….awesome”. Join us to be awesome too! All levels and abilities welcome.

How much are these online virtual events?

These virtual events are $10 each to join before Early Bird prices expire on May 11th, 2020.

After May 11th 2020, virtual events are $15 each.

You can take advantage of our Early Bird offer before May 11th and sign up for all four virtual events for $35. After May 11th, all four virtual events will be available for $55.

When will I receive details of how to log on to the virtual events?

We will be sending your exclusive log in details a few days before each event. Please contact us at info@rcdfoundation.org if you don’t receive anything from us.

Can I just do one or two and not all of the virtual events on offer?

Yes, you can choose to do one, two, three or all four of the virtual events. It’s totally up to you.

Can I get a refund if I don’t participate on the day/night?

No, sadly, there are no refunds if you can’t participate on the day/night. However, each virtual event will be recorded and a link will be sent to ticket holders to enable them to watch the virtual event whenever they like throughout the month of May.

Can I access the virtual events on a later day or at another time?

Yes, see above answer. The events will be accessible for all of May.

What if I have a technical glitch/internet trouble and I can’t view the virtual events I’ve paid for?

Try hitting refresh…if you are really having trouble, you may have to watch at another time. The events will be accessible for all of May.

Can I share the link to virtual events with someone who hasn’t paid?

No. As a fundraising event for the RCD Foundation, we ask you not to share the link with those outside your household.

If I work at a corporation that has a 2020 Connor’s Run team and want to sign up a number of participants for these virtual events, can tickets and donations added to through joining the Go Grey the Virtual Way Events be added to the company’s 2020 Connor’s Run Fundraising Page?

Yes. Please contact Leonie Mawkes for further information: leonie@rcdfoundation.org

Will I be able to interact with and ask questions of the presenter?

Yes! Most of our virtual events are live and interactive. You’ll be able to ask a question or interact through a moderated chat box during each session.

Do I need to buy the ingredients for the Cooking with Charlie Masterclass?

Yes. We will send around the list of ingredients prior to the class. It’s up to you if you would like to cook as you go with Charlie on the night or watch and replay it and cook on another night when you have all the ingredients.

I’m having trouble getting hold of the books for Connor’s Book Club…can you suggest where I can source them?

We encourage you to shop local. If the books aren’t available in store, they can usually get them in for you in a day or two. Some stores (Beaumaris Books, Top Titles, Ulysses Bookstore) are offering home delivery while restrictions are in place. Check also online at dymocks.com.au, booktopia.com.au and amazon.com.au. For those with kindles, they are available as e-books.

Do I have to read all the books beforehand?

The authors, Zara and Liz will be discussing the books and will endeavour to alert you to any spoilers…they are all great books and definitely worth a read. If you can, it would be great to read them before the session, so you can get the most out of the discussion and ask any burning questions of the authors on the night.

What is the format of Connor’s Book Club?

Here is a rough format for Connor’s Book Club:

First 15 mins, Welcome and Liz and Zara will discuss Such a Fun Age

Next 10 mins Liz and Zara will talk with Sally Hepworth about her book The Mother-in-Law

The following 10 mins, Liz, Zara and Sally with talk with Graeme Simsion about his book The Rosie Result

There will then be 20mins of Q&A from the audience with the authors.

Discussion times may vary according to where the conversation leads us!
