It's that time of year, time to commit to the cause (raising funds for brain cancer research), take on a great challenge to get through the end of winter and do something that will ultimately be a memory that we will never forget.
This is the sixth year Beon Energy Solutions, Next Generation Electrical, Citipower & Powercor and friends have been entering teams into the Surf Coast Century event with more than $150k funds raised for charities that are dear to our hearts over the previous 5 years.
2022 will be a little different. We’re also encouraging people within the business to do the Robert Connor Dawes Connors run event, which you can do any day in September, from any location, any way you want (ie, walk, jog, skip, hop, etc). This way, more people can participate should you wish to.
This year we will be raising money to support brain cancer and the next phase of the Alfie Phd Project targeting rare childhood brain cancer treatments in memory of Alfie Chivers (forever two). The Alfie CRISPR Project, which we collectively helped fund, has progressed well and was recently presented at the International Symposium on Paediatric Neuro-Oncology (ISPNO) in Hamburg, Germany through our support of the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation (Alfie Chivers CRISPR Project - RCD Foundation).
There is no better time to start training, challenge yourself and support the long list of people who have survived a leg of the Surf Coast Century and coming back all over again (x6) to support brain cancer research.
Surf Coast Century - The basics:
When is it: Saturday 17 September 2022, from 7am for Leg 1 with the teams finishing between 430 and 700pm.
Teams of 4: completing each 20-30km with a total of 100km along beaches, across cliff tops, through forests and trails between Anglesea, Jan Juc and Airey's Inlet.
