Thank you to everybody who donated. It means so much to me that I have been able to raise funds and awareness for this worthwhile cause. I never thought we could raise this much.
Below is the speech that I said to my school mates after my head had been shaved:
"Good morning and thank you to everyone that came to see my grandmother shave my hair that I have grown for the last 18 months. My hair will be donated for a wig so that somebody with cancer can feel a bit better.
I have been raising money for Robert Connor Dawes foundation that supports research, care and support for paediatric brain cancer. 120 children are diagnosed with brain cancer every year.
Many of us know and were friends with Gideon who was at Sholem Aleichem with us. I know how much I miss him and how sad it made me even though I was not so close with him. I can’t imagine how bad his family and friends feel and how many people would be affected by his passing.
To multiply this sadness by 120 shows how important it is to support this worthwhile charity and work to find a cure.
I am so grateful to everybody that donated to help me support this cause and I cannot believe just how much we raised together.
