We are taking inspiration from some brave people.
So we set our challenge - run 80km each - from Bondi to Manly!
Jean Mitchell was only 16 years old when she discovered a 4cm medulloblastoma in her brain. She underwent grueling chemo-therapy, chewing through lollipops to hide the metallic taste. Every round of therapy like a 500m row, she went courageously into her horrible battle with cancer.
We hear stories like that and can't believe the resolve, the grit, the determination. But we aren't surprised.
But she returned to rowing in her final year of school, her tumor formally going into remission. Now, she's in the Olympic Women's Four event representing Australia.
We hear stories like that and can't believe the resolve, the grit, the determination. But we aren't surprised.
Cancer has rippled through our lives as well and we are touched by the spirit of those affected.
We want to do something tough and contribute to the research that enabled heroes like Jean to step up to the national stage and make us all proud.
So we set our challenge - run 80km each - from Bondi to Manly!
On October 26th we set off to do that. Consider joining our training journey in any way you can. Donate to our page, drop us a message with your own story, or consider Jean's story for yourself.
